De Yeticom Optima is qua uiterlijk hetzelfde als de Magnum 257 maar van binnen is het een heel ander toestel. Zo is het moederbord volledig anders als het moederbord van de magnum 257 en heeft het moederbord andere componenten als die van de magnum 257. Yeticom heeft ook diverse functies toegevoegd aan de Optima zoals 5kHz stappen, het IF filter en extra afscherming in de rf driver om te voldoen aan internationale regelgeving en de typegoedkeuring en het is de geluidskwaliteit geoptimaliseerd. De Yeticom Optima heeft een koeler aan de achterkant gekregen zodat de transceiver meer en betere koeling krijgt. De Yeticom Optima loopt van 24.500 t/m 29.999 Mhz en heeft standaard 50Watt (regelbaar aan de voorzijde) op de FM band en heeft een CE Keuring. Kortom de Yeticom Optima lijkt op de Magnum 257 maar is in werkelijkheid een heel andere tranceiver.
